Footlights, Spotlights, and Highlights: St. Petersburg City Theatre Celebrates 90 Years

To kick off the 2015-2016 Theatre Season, please join us on Thursday, September 3rd to meet Megan Byrne, Executive Director of St Petersburg City Theatre. Ms. Byrne will share the rich history of theatre in our beloved city, including much of what goes on behind the curtain.

With more than sixteen years of experience working in theatre in our community and in Grand Caymen, she has the inside scoop on what it takes-besides the Actors and Music-to put on a top notch production. Her academic career includes a BA in Theatre, Scenic and Lighting Design from USF.

Ms. Byrne’s has worked for Ruth Eckerd Halls’ Capitol Theatre, the Straz Center, and the College of Visual and Performing Arts at USF in a variety of capacities, while working steadily for the past eleven years as a lighting designer in the Tampa Bay area.

With a passion for theatre, she continues to share her vast experience in lighting with students and young professionals alike. Whether you’re a history buff, have an interest in Theatre, or want to know more about this year’s Theatre Season, make your reservations for this week’s program now!
