2021 BPW Women’s Equality Day Celebration

WomensEqualityDay

Celebrate with us on Saturday, August 28
2pm to 4pm
The Hideaway Cafe
1756 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg

Women’s Equality Day commemorates the passage of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, granting the right to vote to women. The amendment was first introduced in 1878. In 1971, the U.S. Congress designated August 26 as Women’s Equality Day.

100 years after women won the right to vote in the US, we are bringing our Equality Day Celebration into the modern era. For those of you familiar with our annual tea, it was an homage to the suffragettes who would use the social permission to gather for tea as an opportunity to organize and educate. Thanks to them, we no longer need or want it to be such a secret. Change is in the air and so our tea has turned to wine, a cool soft drink or the beverage of your choice along with a little charcuterie. Tickets will be $26 in advance. There will be a cash bar. Come for the connection stay for the live music and fun.
