20 Jan Tampa Bay Beaches Update with Charlie Justice
On January 8, 2026 we began our new year with Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Charlie Justice. We are thrilled to be able to welcome BPW/SPP longtime friend, Charlie Justice, to our first program/meeting of 2026. Charlie gave an update on what is going on with our amazing and wonderful beach communities, since Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024, including an update on beach rejuvenation and economic development, as well as the impact of 2 hurricanes in 1 year and none the next.
Charlie Justice was appointed President & CEO of the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber in February of 2025 after a long and distinguished career in public service. A Pinellas native, Charlie Justice was born and raised in St. Petersburg graduating from Pinellas public schools and earning degrees at St. Petersburg College and the University of South Florida. In 2000, he was elected to the Florida House of Representatives. In 2006, he won a seat in the Florida Senate. Coinciding with his time as a legislator, Charlie had a career at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg creating the Office of Leadership Development and Programming where he worked connecting students to leaders and leadership opportunities in the Bay area. Charlie Justice was elected countywide to a seat on the Pinellas County Commission in 2012 and re-elected subsequently in 2016 and 2020. During his Commission Service, Justice was elected by his peers to serve as Chairman in both 2016 and 2022. His service also includes time as Chair of the Tourist Development Council, Chair of the Pinellas Economic Council, Chair of the Tampa Bay Estuary Program, Chair of the Historic Preservation Board and time on the Boards of the Area Agency on Aging of Pasco-Pinellas. Charlie Justice is married to Kathleen. They reside in west St. Petersburg with their two daughters.
