30 Apr BPW Welcomes David Jolly
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, BPW/St. Petersburg–Pinellas welcomed David Jolly, Democratic candidate for Governor, for an engaging and informative luncheon. Attendees had the opportunity to hear directly from Jolly as he shared his vision for the future of Florida and the issues most impacting residents across the state.
Jolly, who represented Florida’s 13th Congressional District from 2014 to 2017 following the passing of Congressman Bill Young, reflected on his time in Congress and his reputation for independence and willingness to work across the aisle. His approach earned national recognition, with The Tampa Bay Times noting, “It’s refreshing to hear someone take on the system,” and others highlighting his commitment to compromise and candid leadership.
During the program, Jolly discussed his priorities, including support for veterans and seniors, environmental protection, government accountability, and strengthening communities throughout Florida. He also spoke about his transition from public office to serving as a political analyst over the past eight years, where his insights have been featured on MSNBC and in major publications such as Time, USA Today, The Washington Post, and The New York Times.
A Florida native and Pinellas County resident, Jolly shared personal reflections on raising his family locally and his continued dedication to public service. His remarks offered both perspective and inspiration, sparking thoughtful conversation among attendees.
The luncheon provided a valuable opportunity for members and guests to stay informed, engaged, and connected to the issues shaping Florida’s future—underscoring BPW’s mission to foster leadership, advocacy, and civic involvement.
