01 Jun Gay Lynne Inskeep – Trial Courts Administrator, Sixth Judicial Circuit
GUEST SPEAKER May 19: Gay Lynne Inskeep. She spoke on the Importance of an Independent Judiciary. Gay has been with the Sixth Judicial Circuit since 1987 when she started as a trial court law clerk. She has had a lot of firsts in her career, she was the Circuit’s first Arbitration and Mediation Coordinator, the first Family Law Deputy and the first Chief Deputy Courts Administration. She was appointed Trial Courts Administrator on January 1, 2004.
As we enter into the last months of the federal election cycle and start the state cycle, we have already gone through a legislative session that saw bills introduced that would limit the terms that a judge could sit on the bench (they are already governed by a forced retirement at age 70), as well as a bill to make all judges in the state appointed by the Governor (right now appellate judges and supreme court justices are appointed). Please join us Thursday, May 19 when we welcome Gay Lynne Inskeep, and learn why now more than ever it is so important to have an independent judiciary.
