For our June meeting, BPW welcomes Susana Weymouth, the Chief Development Officer for The Florida Orchestra to speak about how the state’s largest performing arts organization was able to continue under Music Director Michael Francis and President and CEO Mark Cantrell, at a time when so much stopped. Since joining The Florida Orchestra in January of 2021, Susana will lead a team responsible for creating and managing a comprehensive fundraising plan for TFO as it navigates the financial effects of the pandemic and beyond.
Susana is Executive Director Emeritus of Tampa Bay Businesses for Culture and the Arts. During her six year tenure with TBBCA, Susana was a transformational leader and driving force behind the non-profit’s growth and success. Susana has long been involved in the fields of development, international education, culture and the arts. Her professional experience includes roles as Coordinator for International Programs at Florida International University, founding Executive Director of FIU’s Dean of Undergraduate Education Board, Development Director of the Miami International Film Festival, Development Consultant for the National Film and Television School in London, England, and founding Executive Director for the Government Research Corporation China Advisory Group. Susana is patron and has served on boards and advisory councils of numerous Tampa Bay arts and cultural organizations. She is a graduate of Georgetown University.
