Thank you for registering for our annual Equality Day Tea event, “Diversi-Tea: Writing Women Back Into History,” to be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014, from 1-4 p.m. at the historic Manhattan Casino in south St. Petersburg.
Your email receipt from Paypal will be your proof that your ticket has been paid. If we receive a reservation for a ticket that has not been paid, we will be contacting you for payment.
In 1971, the U.S. Congress commemorated the 1920 passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which granted women the right to vote, by designating August 26 as “Women’s Equality Day.” The observance also calls attention to women’s continuing efforts toward full equality. This year’s Tea will focus on the historical significance of globalizing a woman’s right to vote.
One of the event highlights will be a hat fashion show. We encourage you to wear your favorite hat!
We look forward to using the Diversi-Tea as a springboard to exchanging ideas about women’s equality, women’s issues and equity for all women in the workplace throughout the year.
